Nilusha T De Silva BBA (University of Bolton), (CBA-CA Sri Lanka) – Managing Director International Operations
Nilusha completed her C.A. article training under Mr. N.S.C De Silva (FCA/FCMA) at M/s B.R. De Silva and Company Chartered Accountants Colombo from 1997 -2001.
Nilusha is also following the MBA Programme of the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenapura, Sri Lanka.
She started her mercantile sector experience with M/s Swiss Lloyd Limited, Colombo as an Accountant where she was responsible for its Annual Financial Statements and Corporate tax matters.
Nilusha has incorporated the 1st International branch of SDM Kandy group in Dubai, UAE as SDM Kandy International (FZE), Block B -829-045 Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park Free Zone Authority
Nilusha's previous employment includes M/s Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants Colombo’s Tax Department as a Tax Executive and Managed a Corporate Tax portfolio of over 35 clients (specialized in VAT) of various sectors including Finance, Manufacturing, Imports, Exports & General Trading, IT, etc. She was in charge of attending all of their Corporate Tax matters, carrying out interviews with the Department of Inland Revenue of Sri Lanka on various assessments & penalties imposed on behalf of the clients and also providing opinions on various Tax issues including VAT, Corporate Tax Planning and advisory services and continued until June 2007 where she joined her husband in Doha, Qatar.
Up on her arrival in Doha, Qatar, she immediately joined as an associate at M/s KPMG Fakhroo Chartered Accountants. Her main responsibilities lied in the Tax and Compliance department. At KPMG Doha, she was working with the HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank Tax compliance teams. She carried out the work according to KPMG Methodology & International Financial Reporting Standards where she was the in charge of the assignment of back office operations of Standard Chartered Bank which also included all the compliance work according to the Qatar Tax law. She also had attended many meetings with and on behalf of clients with the Qatar tax authorities.
With her husband (Our Executive Chairman/Managing Director) moving in to Dubai, UAE in April 2012, she is now a freelance Consultant handling various Tax and Accounting Assignments in Dubai while taking care of SDM Kandy's International clientele on Audit and tax affairs contributing with her experience and know-how.
